When we had come into the land of Canaan, I built an altar in the plains of Moreh and offered sacrifice unto the Lord.

And the Lord appeared unto me and said, This is the land which I will give unto thee and to thy seed after thee forever.
3
I will make thy seed like the stars of heaven and will give unto them for an inheritance all the land which belongeth unto the Canaanites for surely I will destroy them from off the face of the land when their wickedness is full.

Wherefore, I praised the Lord for his mercy and we departed from that place arid journeyed toward Bethel.
