Hebrew, “washing/baptism.” A ritual washing, full body immersion in “living water” for ablution, similar to the Christian baptism. The Torah requires washing in water, full immersion, as a means of purification in 4 Moses 19:2 and Leviticus 15:13. Because we are temples of God, we wash our bodies to be worthy of the Holy Spirit.
